Media Arts & Animation. Expertise in one or more of the following fields; Motion graphics/broadcast design, Three-dimensional animation and Compositing. MEL/Max script knowledge is also preferred. more

The School of Film and Animation (SOFA) is inviting applications for a faculty position in 3D computer animation.

We seek an active artist dedicated to the education of filmmakers/animators. The candidate should demonstrate substantial aptitude in the art of animation and Maya software. Courses will involve teaching undergraduate and graduate students the aesthetics and techniques of modeling, character animation (including rigging), lighting and texturing. Additional experience in any of the following areas is desirable: acting for animation, cinema production, 2D animation and compositing, Mel scripting or other programming languages. In addition to a full teaching load, responsibilities include advising students, assisting in curriculum development, participating in research, scholarship and creative activity, and providing service to the institute, college, and department. more

The Faculty member will develop curriculum and teach the new Digital Media and Education Applications course. The course examines digital media as well as software, and how it can be used in educational applications. Several models and theories are evaluated and applied to substantiate their digital design approach. The successful candidate will have 2 - 5 years experience in digital arts communities along with online facilitation.

The faculty will report to the Program Director of Education Media Design and Technology. All faculty work directly from the Full Sail campus in Winter Park, FL. more
