Pro Tools Editor - NBC
The Pro Tools Editor/Audio Technician must be familiar with the operation, terms and concepts of the Digidesign Pro Tools HD 6.9. They must be able to sweeten and enhance the audio for finished programs of various lengths and/or promotional announcements using the software interface, including menus, dialog boxes, tools, buttons and icons along with being familiar with Windows and Mac operating systems. This includes but is not limited to audio recording, editing, mixing, ADR, 5.1 surround sound.
Essential Responsibilities
The Pro Tools Editor/Audio Technician must be able to input and output various source media, such as digitizing to and from videotape or audio multi-track machines as well as the importing/exporting files to and from various network locations and system storage drives. This includes operation of Digidesign Control 24 and Yamaha DM 2000 audio consoles as well as Tascam MX-2424 and DA-98HR multi-track machines.
The Pro Tools Editor must also possess strong client/people skills offering consultation and production assistance, the technical ability and problem solving skills related to the use of various technical equipment and computers as well as having the ability to handle pressure due to various deadlines.
Qualifications/Requirements
3+ years of audio editing experience in a television production environment. Strong working knowledge of Pro Tools.
Must be available to work all shifts, including early mornings, evenings, holidays, weekends, late breaking news and hurricane emergencies.
Must be willing to facilitate personnel requirements including late and/or last minute scheduling changes in a 24/7 production work environment.
Must be willing to travel as needed, sometimes on short notice.
