Freelance Commercial Producer - HOUSE/LAIKA
LAIKA/House is currently qualifying and adding candidates to our database of freelance talent for pending and future projects. Freelance work can vary from one day to several months depending on the project. Individuals will be required to work on-site, during normal business hours, and will be paid as W2 employees.
The Commercial Producer initiates, coordinates and oversees all aspects of the commercial production process.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
* Works with an Executive Producer and Director during initial bidding stages to create budget, schedule, bid letter, and pitch presentations.
* Works with Director and Department Heads to determine allocation of internal staff and freelance staffing needs.
* Responsible for the fiscal management of project(s), actualizing and forecasting costs bi-weekly to maintain financial oversight. Reviews Actuals with Executive Producer throughout project.
* Regularly reviews and resolves conflict issues relating to budget expenditures and schedule status.
* Ensures that all appropriate contracts and documents authorizing the production are executed.
* Oversees production support personnel (as necessitated) and allocation of resources within a particular project.
* Interacts with agency producer (key contact) and all agency personnel.
* Views dailies and work in progress and is able to communicate with agency on the status of the job and their creative review of our work.
* Ensures all necessary lines of communication are open and working, both internally and externally. Responsible for communicating changes in schedule and/or scope with all Department Heads and Crew.
* Maintains positive relationships with clients.
* Performs all necessary functions needed to wrap the job, including final review of the production process and PR materials.
Qualifications
* Two plus years experience as a commercial animation producer
* Knowledge of traditional 2D, FLASH, Stop Motion, and CG animation process
* Demonstrated ability to work with creative individuals
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
* Working knowledge of production process
* Ability to communicate in a constructive, proactive manner
* Demonstrated project management skills
* Industry related experience
* Ability to juggle various priorities and deadlines in a fast paced environment.
* Working knowledge of Word and Excel
* Ability to work both independently and as a team player
* Ability to delegate when necessary
* Knowledge/experience on live action commercial production a plus
