Multimedia Producer - Amnesty International (London)
This position is based in London.
DESCRIPTION: To produce targeted audiovisual materials which advance the organization’s human rights agenda and raise awareness of AI’s work to promote and protect human rights, support AI’s global campaigns and mobilise a growing number of supporters to the movement. The Multimedia Producer is particularly focussed on generating AV material for the online channels.
DEPARTMENT PURPOSE: AI’s Media Program is responsible for promoting and supporting a culture of effective and coordinated media and audiovisual work across the International Secretariat and the movement. The program drives and maintains consistent presentation of AI’s name and message in the media and oversees media strategy, content, delivery and targeting of AI’s message in the print and electronic media. The Audiovisual Production Team is involved in all of AI’s priority campaigns and projects, working on products from 30 second spots to feature films and finding audiences through both broadcast and online channels.
USEFUL INFORMATION: As part of the Audiovisual team, this role contributes to the development and production of video and audio products for traditional and multimedia use, with a particular focus on online. The role works in close cooperation with the Press Office, other programs and national sections & structures to produce and coordinate AV materials to support AI’s international media and campaigning priorities and which reflect and protect AI’s image and reputation. This is a full time position which requires the ability and willingness to work out of office hours.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
* To create, develop and produce multimedia materials for a range of media, including AI’s website and news broadcasters, to ensure maximum impact for communicating AI’s messages to the appropriate target audiences.
* To assist with filming, recording and editing of video and audio features for defined AI products, according to agreed priorities and budgets.
* To contribute to the development and implementation of detailed strategies and work plans to ensure the acquisition, production and distribution of targeted, timely and effective audio and video products for cross-platform use, for a diverse range of audiences, within agreed program operational plans.
* To respond to enquiries from and provide advice to Amnesty International sections, groups, International Secretariat staff, including non-London International Secretariat staff, and other key stakeholders.
* To maintain and develop standards for electronic publishing of Amnesty International audiovisual material including within the context of Amnesty International’s internet strategy, copyright issues, technical issues and electronic style questions.
* To contribute to the development and implementation of marketing strategies and other strategies as agreed within program operational plans and priorities.
* To contribute to the Audiovisual Production team’s administrative systems and to carry out all administrative tasks related to the post in accordance with the agreed guidelines on self-servicing.
* To keep up-to-date with developments in the field of online audiovisual activities and make recommendations on equipment, resources and training; research and evaluate new methods and develop improvements to the services of the team.
* To support the organization’s best use of audiovisual material by providing specialist advice within the program, the IS and the movement as appropriate, and by identifying and participating in audiovisual training as appropriate in conjunction with the Human Resources Program.
* To cover for team members and other program staff as required. To carry out own administrative tasks related to the post in accordance with the guidelines on self-servicing and to monitor progress and adherence to agreed standards, including establishing systems to ensure accountability and reporting.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
* Experience of devising and producing creative audiovisual materials for an online audience through AI’s websites and external sites such as YouTube, Dailymotion, CurrentTV etc
* Ability to edit audio and video and produce sophisticated products for traditional and new media with an awareness and understanding of edit systems such Avid Xpress Pro
and Adobe Premiere Pro.
* Knowledge of current and emerging technological developments relating to audiovisual production and impact on organization’s ability to communicate its messages
* Awareness of traditional and new media, in particular developments in online news services for maximising impact of audiovisual materials to diverse audiences.
* An awareness of the Human Rights agenda and a recognition of the role audiovisual work can have in driving AI’s work
* Experience of updating web pages, working with webcasts and knowledge of web video streaming media
* Experience of working in Flash or with after effects or animation packages would be an advantage.
* Experience in similar role in international organization or news/current affairs environment with demonstrated ability to identify news angles and distribution outlets.
* Experience in filming on digital video cameras and an awareness of capabilities of DV cameras.
* Experience of updating web pages, working with webcasts and knowledge of web video streaming media
* Experience of working in the field, editing on a laptop and uploading material or otherwise sending it back for use.
* Experience of providing advice to non-technical users
* Ability to assist in the preparation of operational and project specific budgets
* Experience of writing for the web and an understanding of copyright issues
* Ability to contribute to strategic thinking and planning for media work
* Understanding of the role of audiovisual materials to promote media objectives in an international organization
* Willingness to participate in developing and implementing audiovisual training packages
* Ability to work under pressure and to deadline.
* Experience of working in a team environment and sharing responsibilities and tasks.
* Good written and oral communication skills.

I would be very interested in applying for the position. I am an all around media producer, and can work in any media. My experience is in shooting, editing, graphics, including 3-d animation, Flash marketing materials such as brochures, annoucements, advertisinments. I both design and create. More than 25 years of experience. I would love to do something meaningful.

The One Show Pencil, multiple Emmy, Addy, Telly Awards and Daytime Television Emmy nominated small young production team with very high level visual digital skills including currently assisting Adobe in developing their software suite for maximizing interface with The Red camera.
