FCP Editor - LOGO
Short form Final Cut Pro editor needed at LOGO — the LGBT network from MTV Networks.
Logo is looking for a dedicated and experienced staff editor, who has a close eye for detail, a confident editorial flair, a sharp graphic sensibility, and smart ideas with the skills to execute them. The right candidate should have extensive experience working in a professional, broadcast-quality Final Cut environment, incorporating media from different sources and codecs, working with producers to find footage, images, and music tracks, incorporating motion graphics, compressing media for different platforms, and delivering to spec. Experience in network promos preferred, though commercial and trailer experience could be sufficient for the right candidate. Experience with other short form work as well (interstitials, trailers, online content, etc.) would be a plus. We’re looking for someone who can make any programming pop, who can handle critical deadlines and fast turnarounds, who can turn a sow’s ear into a lovely silk purse, and who’s fun to be around in the process. The ideal candidate would have a demonstrated interest in and understanding of LGBT media as well.
Final Cut Pro, DVD Studio Pro, Photoshop, some After Effects preferred.

To Whom It May Concern:
My name is Guy Shalem and I am an AVID/FCP editor. I edited full time until 2003 and have continued to edit as part of my overall production responsibilities since then.
During the past 5 years I’ve been working as a writer/director/producer developing programming for Fox TV Studios, VH1, Warner Brothers Online, Buena Vista Television, Sony and 20th Television Fox Lab where I sold various shows to different networks. I also directed a feature film, which I’ve co-edited. On every project in which I was involved, I played a significant role in the editing function and in fact did a great deal of the editing myself.
You can check out my reel at: http://web.mac.com/guyshalem/Site/Reel.html
I have 13 years of experience cutting trailers, reality shows and half hour comedies. You can click on the reference tab at the top and I can also send you the contact numbers for my colleagues listed.
Thanks for your time,
Guy Shalem
