Rochester Institute of Technology 3D Animation Instructor

The School of Film and Animation (SOFA) is inviting applications for a faculty position in 3D computer animation.


We seek an active artist dedicated to the education of filmmakers/animators. The candidate should demonstrate substantial aptitude in the art of animation and Maya software. Courses will involve teaching undergraduate and graduate students the aesthetics and techniques of modeling, character animation (including rigging), lighting and texturing. Additional experience in any of the following areas is desirable: acting for animation, cinema production, 2D animation and compositing, Mel scripting or other programming languages. In addition to a full teaching load, responsibilities include advising students, assisting in curriculum development, participating in research, scholarship and creative activity, and providing service to the institute, college, and department.


Requirements:

- MFA degree or equivalent professional experience

- Proficiency with MAYA software

- Body of past work


Desired Skills and Pluses:

- Teaching experience on the college level

- Experience in acting for animation, cinema production, 2D animation, compositing, Mel scripting or other programming languages.

- Professional experience
